My high school's 2022 fall musical was the hit horror-comedy musical “Little Shop of Horrors”. Designing this set with our directors was one of the most enjoyable projects I have ever worked on. The set features a 24-foot revolve, the centrepiece of the set. It also includes the board the Orin Scrivello, DDS’s tools are on, and a stoop for the Urchins (the all-female gang that serves as the chorus in the show) to hang out on. I started the design phase in November, finishing it completely by February. This process was enduring and eventful, teaching me new techniques and computer programs to create my current ‘magnum opus’. This project also taught me a lot about the design process. After examining other productions’ sets of the show, we determined the core aspects of the design. Then, I began modelling the set in Autodesk Fusion 360 for our technical director to use as blueprints when constructing the set. For the video display, I used Maxon Cinema 4D and Maxon Redshift Render Engine. I used this render engine compared to the other portfolio pieces because it allowed me to import the 3D lighting plot our lighting designer, Everett Rende, created.
