In Theatre Technology & Design class in my Junior year of high school, we had the assignment over winter break to become familiar with a rudimentary CAD program and model a set of our choosing. I found a relatively simple set, "Evita", and began working. The common layout of the sets was what I ended up modelling. The majority of my peers did the required 100 objects, but I went a tad bit overboard. I was determined to make a set that someone could look at and build. The rendering on the bottom of the image is the final product, but I found it important to include a behind-view of the structure I modelled into the set. Everything is cut into four-by-eights, there are two-by-fours for the flooring with complaint spacing and framing, and the posts are six by sixes. Even the stairs are modelled to be standard in width, pitch, and support. This was essentially a test to see if I could model a set with structural specifications for our school's future theatrical productions as a set designer.
